Track record

Since 2010: software that mobile operators and enterprises run on.

RanWorx started in 2010 testing and analysing mobile networks. We built telecom products that Ascom distributed worldwide and Digitata Networks acquired. Today the same engineering builds AI-enabled enterprise platforms.

  1. 2010

    RanWorx is founded

Registered in South Africa on 24 May 2010 as RanWorx CC, to test and analyse radio access networks and consult to mobile operators.

  2. 2010–2013

NetTrax: the network, as subscribers experience it

We built NetTrax, handset-based customer-experience monitoring for mobile operators. Agents on iOS, Android and BlackBerry captured dropped calls, failed set-ups and no-service events as subscribers went about their day, and ran voice, ping, FTP and HTTP tests on demand. A web platform turned the data into reports, alarms and a customer-complaints portal, hosted or installed in the operator's network.

  3. 2013

    TecTonix, and a US trademark

We filed NetTrax as a US trademark in January 2013. The same year we built TecTonix, passive infrastructure asset tracking for mobile network infrastructure providers.

  4. 2013–2014

    NetTrax becomes TEMS MobileInsight

NetTrax joined Ascom's TEMS network-testing portfolio as TEMS MobileInsight. From 2014 Ascom was its exclusive worldwide distributor, and RanWorx remained the product's research and development house.

  5. 2014

NetCE: automated testing in the lab and at fixed sites

Alongside NetTrax we built NetCE for lab and fixed-location testing: real mobile phones connected to a micro PC and driven over ADB, running unattended test campaigns.

  6. 2015

    In production, worldwide

By 2015 NetTrax and TEMS MobileInsight had reached around 22,000 downloads and some 12,000 regular active users, and RanWorx employed 14 full-time developers. The product ran in production at US Cellular in the United States and for operators across Southern Africa, including Vodacom South Africa, Vodacom Mozambique and Tmcel (then mCel).

  7. 2017

    Digitata Networks acquires the IP

Digitata Networks acquired selected RanWorx software assets and their intellectual property, including NetTrax, NetCE and TecTonix. NetCE became Digitata's CeRC automated network-testing solution. RanWorx remained an independent company.

  8. 2017–today

    Digitata Networks becomes a customer

Since the acquisition, Digitata Networks has been a RanWorx customer.

  9. 2025

    The development partner behind Asterion

RanWorx became the development partner of our sister company, AI Asterion, and builds its platform: 22 modules of AI-enabled operational software for mining, heavy industry, healthcare and the businesses that serve them.

  10. 2026

    RanWorx Telco Tools

We launched 27 free engineering tools for RAN, transmission, fibre and site engineers. It's the telecom side of our history, rebuilt as a modern product.
